The Seton Hall Pirate’s landed a highly touted recruit Saturday night, as 2021 3-star forward Tyler Powell (Los Angeles, CA) announced via his Instagram live that he would be heading to South Orange next season.

Per the 247Sports Composite rankings he is the 133rd best in the class, 29th best small forward, and 10th best player from California.

He chose Seton Hall over schools including Nevada, Pepperdine, UCSB, Washington State, New Mexico, TCU, Stanford and LMU.

Powell has great range all the way out to the perimeter with his jumper, can rebound well for his position and is also able finish well through contact. In an interview with 247Sports, Powell said, “I’m and inside-out player, I can create space for myself and for other guys. I’m always about playing defense, I can create space for myself and for other guys. I’m always about playing defense, I don’t care how big.”

Powell joins 3-star point guard Ryan Conway in Seton Hall’s 2021 recruiting class.

The Pirates currently have three scholarships remaining for the 2021-22 season.
