Big East offer tracker (Aug. 10): Four new commits, more offers, and final cuts, and other decisions

Big week on the recruiting trail for the Big East.

-BIG EAST Conference

There was a big haul on the recruiting trail for the Big East. The UConn Huskies, Marquette Golden Eagles, Seton Hall Pirates, and St. John’s Red Storm each got a new commit.

With the Red Storm finally getting on the board for 2021, the Providence Friars are the only Big East team that don’t have a 2021 commit so far.

Here is all the action from this past week:

New commitments:

New offers:

Other notes:

  • Providence and Xavier target, forward Mo Njie (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) reclassified from 2020 to 2021.

Final cuts:

  • Five-star 2022 guard Skyy Clark (Los Angeles, Calif./Brentwood Academy) cut DePaul and Georgetown from his final eight list.
  • Five-star 2022 forward Brandon Huntley-Hatfield (Clarksville, Tenn./IMG Academy) trimmed his list down to 11 schools. Georgetown is in, Seton Hall is out.
  • Four-star 2021 guard Jordan Nesbitt (St. Louis, Mo./St. Catherine’s) narrowed his list down to 11 schools. Seton Hall is in, but Creighton and DePaul didn’t make the cut.
  • 2021 guard Nisine Poplar (Philadelphia, Pa./Math, Civics, & Sciences) included St. John’s and Seton Hall in his final 10 list, but cut Georgetown, DePaul, and Marquette.

Non-Big East commitments:

Other notes:

  1. If you notice an error, have news of a new offer, please feel free to tip me off—or Big East Coast Bias—on Twitter: @becb_sbn and @erapay5. I’ll update accordingly.
  2. Shoutout to Anonymous Eagle, Casual Hoya, Banners on the Parkway, Rumble in the Garden, The UConn Blog, and VU Hoops. We unfortunately don’t have articles on all recruits, but we got some help in filling some blanks from our fellow Big East SB Nation sites. Some recruits have clickable names, which will take you to a relevant article regarding that player.
  3. I recommend viewing the spreadsheet externally, since you’ll be able to use things like filters (Google Sheets has that option on the top-left, next to the print button.) and Ctrl+F (Apple+F if you’re on Mac) to help make searching for recruits easier. You’ll also have a bigger screen/window to look at the spreadsheet: Big East Offer Tracker, last updated Aug. 10, 2020. Alternatively, you may view below.
