DePaul is tipping off the month of November with its first commit of the Class of 2022. Preston Murphy Jr. (Omaha, Neb./St. Andrew’s School) verbally committed to the Blue Demons on Saturday.

Here’s all the recruiting action from this past week.

New commit:

  • Three-star, 2022 guard Preston Murphy Jr. (Omaha, Neb./St. Andrew’s School) committed to DePaul. He chose the Blue Demons over offers from Buffalo, UMass, Rhode Island, Clemson, UNLV, Siena, and Bryant.

New offers:

  • 2021 forward Mustapha Amzil (Finland/First Love Christian Academy) received an offer from Marquette.
  • 2024 center James Brown (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita) received an offer from DePaul.
  • 2023 guard Aaron Clark (Easton, Pa./St. Benedict’s Prep) received an offer from Seton Hall.
  • Four-star, 2022 guard Jayden Epps (Norfolk, Va./King’s Fork) received an offer from DePaul.
  • 2023 guard Chris Johnson (Missouri City, Texas/Lawrence E. Elkins) received an offer from Creighton.
  • 2021 forward O’mar Stanley (Overland Park, Kan./Link Year Prep) received an offer from St. John’s.

Final cuts:

  • Four-star, 2021 forward Jonas Aidoo (Durham, N.C./Liberty Heights Athletic Institute) included Providence and Providence, but cut St. John’s from his final 10 list.
  • Four-star, 2021 forward Roosevelt Wheeler (Richmond, Va./John Marshall) trimmed his list to five schools. Georgetown, Providence, and DePaul didn’t make the cut.

Non-Big East commitments:

  • Four-star, 2021 forward Bryce Hopkins (Oak Park, Ill./Fenwick) chose Kentucky over Providence and seven other schools.
  • Five-star, 2021 forward Caleb Houstan (Canada/Montverde Academy) committed to Michigan. Also had an offer from Seton Hall.

Other notes:

  1. If you notice an error, have news of a new offer, please feel free to tip me off—or Big East Coast Bias—on Twitter: @becb_sbn and @erapay5. I’ll update accordingly.
  2. Shoutout to Anonymous Eagle, Casual Hoya, Banners on the Parkway, Rumble in the Garden, The UConn Blog, and VU Hoops. We unfortunately don’t have articles on all recruits, but we got some help in filling some blanks from our fellow Big East SB Nation sites. Some recruits have clickable names, which will take you to a relevant article regarding that player.
  3. I recommend viewing the spreadsheet externally, since you’ll be able to use things like filters (Google Sheets has that option on the top-left, next to the print button.) and Ctrl+F (Apple+F if you’re on Mac) to help make searching for recruits easier. You’ll also have a bigger screen/window to look at the spreadsheet: Big East Offer Tracker, last updated Nov. 2, 2020. Alternatively, you may view below.
