As the Xavier Musketeers continue to try and bolster their already strong 2020 recruiting class, their search to add another player to the collection of four-star verbal commits would not end with Caleb Murphy.
Murphy, a standout guard from Norcross, Ga., announced his commitment to USF on Sunday. According to 247 Sports, he is a four-star prospect. His decision to play for South Florida gives the Bulls their highest-ranked commit since John Egbunu arrived in 2013. Like Murphy, he was also a four-star prospect.

Xavier recently offered Murphy, reaching out in mid-July with a scholarship offer. Apart from Xavier, he also had offers from Missouri, Florida, Georgia, Kansas State, Nevada, Texas A&M, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Hofstra, Arkansas, TCU, Ole Miss, and a few others.
Last season, Murphy averaged just under nine points per game playing for Norcross. He truly blossomed over the summer, playing with the Atlanta Celtics on the Adidas Gauntlet. He saved his best performance for last, aiding the Celtics to 17U Adidas Gauntlet Championship. He led the way with 24 points, six rebounds, and five assists.
