St. John’s has entered the competition for Class of 2022 point guard J.J. Starling (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Charles W. Baker).
On Monday, the Red Storm offered the 6-foot-4 guard, joining two other New York colleges vying for Starling.

Starling currently holds offers from St. John’s, Syracuse, and Siena. Like St. John’s, Syracuse also offered Starling on Monday.
His AAU team, the Albany-based City Rocks, was at Syracuse’s camp over the weekend. His hometown is only a 20-minute drive from the Carrier Dome, so the Red Storm will hope to lure him away from Orange country and into the red zone.
Starling is coming off an excellent freshman season at Baldwinsville, where he was named a Class AA All-State player this past season. He averaged 20.7 points per game for the Bees.
