Georgetown’s search for its second Class of 2020 commit won’t take place in Tennessee, as Matthew Murrell (Memphis, Tenn./IMG Academy) left the Hoyas off his top five list.
Murrell, a four-star guard formerly of Whitehaven (Tenn.) announced the news on Friday night.
He will be focusing on schools in the south, specifically Texas, Florida, Ole Miss, Auburn, and a home-state team in Vanderbilt.

The Hoyas offered Murrell back in May. He had close to 20 offers before cutting down, a list that included LSU, Alabama, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Memphis, Iowa State, Mississippi State, and others.
He will be transferring to IMG Academy (Fla.) for the upcoming school year, after previously playing at Whitehaven. He helped Whitehaven to a Class 3A state semifinal appearance. On the AAU circuit, he averaged 15.2 points per game as a member of Team Thad (Tenn.).
