The Butler Bulldogs were handed a bit of bad news earlier in the week, as three-star 2020 forward Toneari Lane committed to Winthrop.
Instead of the Big East, the Lawrenceville, Ga. native will be headed for the Big South.

Lane, the Lawrenceville, Ga. native, had Butler in his final seven list but announced that he will become an Eagle. The move to Winthrop was a bit of a surprise.
About a month ago, the 6-foot-6 wing trimmed his list of offers down to just Ole Miss, TCU, Appalachian State, Saint Louis, Nebraska, Wichita State, and Butler. He had shared the news on Instagram.
However, he received an offer from the Eagles just days before finally committing, as Winthrop crept into the picture before being named his college destination.
