Providence offers 6-foot-10, 2020 big Dylan Cardwell

Ed Cooley isn’t afraid to express his emotions, but neither is Dylan Cardwell, who gets fired up with each big play he makes.

It’s no secret that Ed Cooley coaches and runs up and down the sideline with a lot of fiery passion and energy.

On Thursday, he and his staff offered 2020 center Dylan Cardwell (Augusta, Ga./Oak Hill Academy), a 6-foot-10 big man that plays with a lot of fire and determination and can also light a spark with highlight-caliber plays.

Cardwell, a Georgia native, currently plays for Virginia powerhouse Oak Hill Academy. He arrived at Oak Hill after spending his first two seasons at Evans (Ga.). Cardwell is a tough, physical 6-10, 220-pound big man that takes pride in his play and often looks to show up his opponent. He can do so with an emphatic rim-rattling dunk or a strong rejection. He is a bruiser in the paint, anchoring the key on both ends of the floor. While he provides most of his eye-popping highlights down low, he does have the ability to extend his game out to the mid-range. As opponents and opposing defenses sag off to prepare for an interior attack, he’s comfortable with pulling up and knocking down short-to-midrange jumpers.

It appears that his recruiting is starting to pick up again, as he drew his first offers of 2019 on Thursday. Aside from Providence, Vanderbilt also reached out. He also possesses offers from Penn State, Tennessee, and Georgia.
