Don’t look now, but Dave Leitao and the DePaul Blue Demons are up to something.
After securing a commitment from 2019 top 30 player Romeo Weems a couple months back, Leitao and his staff struck again Sunday as 2019 four-star guard Terrence Shannon tweeted that he was committing to the Blue Demons.

Shannon chose DePaul over Illinois, Florida State, and Maryland, the four schools he named in his final four on Friday.
Shannon, who attends Lincoln Park High School right down the street from DePaul’s campus, is DePaul’s first in-state top 3 recruit (via 247Sports’ rankings) since Mac Koshwal in 2007.
It’s also worth pointing out that Shannon plays AAU for Mac Irvin Fire, a team DePaul has recruited very well of late.
It’s still early in the recruiting cycle, and, of course, past years have taught DePaul fans not to get too excited until the players are actually on campus, but there’s a cautious sense of optimism around the Blue Demons at the moment. 247Sports had their class of 2019 ranked at #22 when Weems committed, and it’s safe to say that will be even higher when their rankings update.
