Class of 2018 point guard Jalen Carey recently cut down his list of schools to six. The Villanova Wildcats were able to make the cut for the Top 100 player in 2018, as seen by his tweet below:

‘Nova is amongst a pack including Kansas, Miami, Syracuse, Connecticut and Rutgers. All six will be vying for the Immaculate Conception (NJ) point guard, originally a native of New York. 247Sports has Carey ranked fourth among all New Jersey prospects right now. The highly touted Nazreon Reid leads that pack, of course, with Louis King and Jahvon Quinerly 2nd and 3rd. It’s safe to say that Carey is among elite company in the Garden State.

The Wildcats are currently chasing after the aforementioned Quinerly right now. The Hudson Catholic (NJ) point guard will decide between ‘Nova and Arizona Wildcats on Tuesday night. How that plays out will likely affect Villanova’s chase for Carey. One can expect them to heat up the pursuit of him if they do strike out on Quinerly. Conversely, if they land Quinerly, then Carey will likely be playing somewhere other than The Main Line in 2018 and beyond.
