Marquette and Steve Wojciechowski continue to target Texas in recruiting. Having sent offers to a bevy of Texan recruits this offseason, the Golden Eagles added another on Thursday. RM5 Elite’s Tyrese Maxey received an offer from MU, per Pat Lawless.

Maxey hails from Garland, located in the suburbs of Dallas. 247Sports lists Maxey as a four-star recruit, ranked 19th in the nation in the class of 2019. Maxey ranks second at his position, shooting guard, and in his home state. Only five-star Charles Bassey of San Antonio ranks higher than Maxey. Scottie Lewis of Eatontown, NJ is the only shooting guard who ranks above Maxey, meanwhile.

Suffice it to say, Tyrese is one of the most talented players in the class of 2019.

With an offer to Maxey out there, Marquette now has 12 open offers for the class of 2019. Tyrese is Marquette's fourth shooting guard offered in the cycle, joining Josh Green, De’Vion Harmon and Josh Nickelberry.

Maxey, meanwhile, currently boasts 20 offers. Michigan State, UCLA, USC, Texas, TCU and Oregon are just some of the schools who have interest in him so far.
