Like St. John’s on Friday, Butler offered class of 2018 center Morris Udeze. Udeze, a native of Richmond, Texas, announced he received the offer from LaVall Jordan and the Bulldogs on his Twitter account.

The 6-foot-8, 240-pound center is listed as a four-star recruit on 247Sports Composite, ranking as one of the best players in The Lone Star State. Udeze is listed eighth among all Texas recruits for 2018, with five-star point guard Quentin Grimes of The Woodlands leading that crop. Morris is in the company of four-stars Kaden Archie, Kendric Davis, a TCU commit and Jamal Gaines.

Among players at his position, Udeze finds himself ranked seventh in the country. Five-star Moses Brown of Archbishop Molloy in New York leads that group, and Udeze finds himself in the company of Purdue commit Trevion Williams, Joel Mensah and the aforementioned Jamal Gaines again.

Nationally, the rising senior ranks 118th in the country.

Away from high school, Udeze has been playing for the Houston Defenders on the Under Armour Association circuit. Butler has already bred some familiarity with the Defenders this offseason, as they had offered Udeze’s teammate Miller Kopp, a fellow four-star recruit in 2018, back in the month June.

Udeze is now one of 14 players that Butler has targeted for the class of 2018. The ‘Dawgs have yet to land a commit so far for next year’s class but there’s still obviously plenty of time to go in that department.
