2018 five-star power forward Simosola Shittu received an offer from Georgetown on Friday.
ESPN’s Adam Finkelstein reported first.
Georgetown head coach Patrick Ewing is the latest to offer @VTAcademyHoops & CIA Bounce ESPN 100 forward Simisola Shittu.

Shittu is a Top 10 player in the class of 2018 (7th), ranks in the Top 5 at his position (4th) and is at the top of the charts for recruits in the state of Vermont.
He certainly hangs around good company at his position, with top-ranked recruit Marvin Bagley, big man Bol Bol -- Manute’s son -- and Jordan Brown of Roseville, California. Nationally, he hangs around the camp of Brown, Darius Garland, Moses Brown and Immanuel Quickley. So it’s safe to say that Simisola is one of the top players in the country, bar none.
He’s an attendee of Vermont Academy, where the likes of Louisville commit Jordan Nwora, Butler commit Christian David, Xavier power forward Tyrique Jones and Miami (FL) guard Bruce Brown among others have hooped before.
Shittu is the fifth power forward that Georgetown has offered for the class of 2018. Four-star Jermaine Harris and three-stars Grayson Carter, Solomon Uyaelunmo and Jimmy Nichols are the others, with Simisola obviously being the standout of the group.
Right now, there’s no real indication that anyone’s a favorite to land Simisola Shittu, at least if you go by his Crystal Ball. Syracuse, UConn and Oregon have all been tabbed to land him in the past month or so. The Ducks were recently picked, but solely on that, it appears to be open season for Shittu’s services, which could prove to be a good thing for the Hoyas as they look to rebuild under new head coach Patrick Ewing. Landing a player of Simisola Shittu’s caliber would, certainly, expedite that process in a big way and make a huge splash in the Big East, too.
