Wichita State reeled 2018 recruit Chance Moore in on Wednesday afternoon. Moore, a shooting guard from Fern Creek Traditional in Louisville, Kentucky, had Butler among his schools of choice along with Dayton. However, it’s the Shockers who wound up pulling him in.

Moore is a three-star recruit on Top247, 247Sports’ standalone rankings service. He ranks second in the state of Kentucky behind Wesley Christian’s Christian Long. Among all shooting guards, the 6-foot-5, 180-pound Moore ranks 55th.

This isn’t the first time that Gregg Marshall and Wichita State have won a recruiting battle over Butler this year. Marshall and the Shockers pulled in Morris Udeze earlier in this cycle, a big man that BU had been pursuing for quite some time. So despite being in on them, the ‘Dawgs lost two battles to the folks in Wichita.

Butler is still looking for their first 2018 commit. They will obviously have to look much farther now.
