Trey McGowens of Hargrave Military Academy (VA) received an offer from the St. John's Red Storm. McGowens, a combo guard in the class of 2019, announced that he landed the offer from the Johnnies on his Twitter account.

McGowens originally hails from South Carolina, where he attended Wren High School in Piedmont. This past spring, McGowens transferred to Hargrave after a solid sophomore year, as he helped lead Wren to the State Championship Finals in the Palmetto State.
While in South Carolina, he was one of the top players in his state. McGowens is in the Top 10, ranking eighth. The class is currentlyled by Lower Richland’s Christian Brown, a five-star wing,and also features Josiah James, D.J. Burns, Juwan Gary and Deuce Dean. He’s the 30th-ranked shooting guard in the country and 188th overall player in 2019.
The 6-foot-3, 175-pound combo guard has been gaining a lot of attention. He has 13 offers now that St. John's offered. The Clemson Tigers, North Carolina State Wolfpack and Kansas State Wildcats have offered within the last month. Also, the South Florida Bulls, Ole Miss Rebels, Virginia Commonwealth Rams and New Mexico Lobos, among others, have too.
