Fleming, who is from Mississippi decided to stay closer to home and play for Avery Johnson’s Crimson Tide.
While it’s always going to be a bit of a bummer when a big man doesn’t commit to Georgetown, especially given who their coach is, the Hoyas will be fine. They’ve already started to recruit the 2018 class incredibly well, plus Jessie Govan may be back next season. If he’s not, Chris Sodom, on paper, has all the tools to be molded into a great big man under Patrick Ewing’s tutelage.
Georgetown has two 2018 scholarships remaining.
