Greg Williams has committed to the St. John's Red Storm! The Class of 2018 wing’s commitment - and subsequent signing of his National Letter of Intent - was announced by the program on Wednesday evening.

Williams is the most recent commit to sign his NLI with the Johnnies, joining fellow 2018 recruit Josh Roberts of Montverde Academy, who did so last week. St. John's' class now ranks 46th in the country and fourth in the Big East with Williams, Roberts and Boubacar Diakite in tow.

Greg Williams comes to St. John's from out in Lafayette, Louisiana. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Williams currently attends Lafayette Christian Academy. By 247Sports Composite, he rates as a 3-star recruit and 141st overall. Among Louisiana prospects, Williams ranks fourth behind Ja’Vonte Smart (Oklahoma State Cowboys), Josh LeBlanc (Georgetown Hoyas) and Jared Butler (Alabama Crimson Tide). And among all shooting guards, he ranks 31st.

247Sports’ standalone views him a bit more highly, listing him as a 4-star recruit who ranks 115th in the nation. He ranks third among all Louisiana recruits and 28th out of all shooting guards in the Class of 2018.

The news of Williams’ commitment to St. John's doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Williams recently visited the campus back on the weekend of October 27. That visit came a month after head coach Chris Mullin visited him. The Johnnies made him a priority, and evidently, that was enough to woo him to Queens.
