St. John's offers 2018 forward J'Raan Brooks

The Johnnies are now in on a player from all the way up in Washington state.

UCLA v St. John's

News of a commitment for the St. John's Red Storm in the Class of 2018 is making the rounds now, as Greg Williams committed on Wednesday afternoon.

Last week though, the Red Storm offered a 2018 recruit that they are, obviously, hoping to land as well. That being forward J'Raan Brooks. Brooks announced the offer on his Twitter account on November 9.

Brooks is a native of Seattle, Washington and is a Top 100 recruit in 2018. He ranks 79th overall via 247Sports Composite, is a 4-star recruit and is No. 2 in the state of Washington behind USC Trojans commit Kevin Porter. Among all power forwards in the class, Brooks currently ranks 21st.

He has fielded several offers from west coast schools, and is a former USC commit himself. Brooks took unofficial visits recently to Washington and Cal. St. John's will obviously have to work pretty hard to convince him to come out east to Queens, especially doing so so late in the game.
