Big East media news: Bill Raftery to make 2014 debut this coming week, other teams announced

Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

The 2014 college basketball season rolls on this week, with a few premier matchups involving Big East teams in the near future. This includes a tussle between potent offenses in Creighton and Oklahoma, as well as Marquette's return matchup with Ohio State, which will be part of ESPN's annual 24-hour tip-off marathon.

Here's what's on tap from the broadcast booth for the coming week, per FOX Sports' press release.

Game Announce Team
Maryland Eastern Shore vs. No. 12 Villanova Scott Graham, Donny Marshall (FOX Sports 1)
Franklin Pierce vs. St. John's Jonathan Yardley, Tarik Turner (ESPN3)
Binghamton vs. Providence Eric Collins, Ron Thompson (FOX Sports 1)
Long Beach State vs. Xavier Joe Davis, Bill Raftery (FOX Sports 1)
Texas A&M-CC vs. Georgetown Scott Graham, Donny Marshall (FOX Sports 2)
Marquette vs. No. 20 Ohio State Bob Wischusen, Dan Dakich (ESPN2)
Drake vs. DePaul Eric Collins, Stephen Bardo (FOX Sports 1)
Chattanooga vs. Butler Cory Provus, Dickey Simpkins (FOX Sports 2)
LIU Brooklyn vs. St. John's Jonathan Yardley, Tarik Turner (ESPN3)
No. 19 Oklahoma vs. Creighton Kevin Kugler, Bill Raftery (FOX Sports 1)

It's a great time to be alive, because Bill Raftery is back. He'll be sitting in as part of Xavier's matchup against Long Beach State, and then be front and center as Buddy Hield and the Sooners take on the high-flying Creighton Bluejays offense. Elsewhere, we see that Eric Collins will be making his debut this coming week, paired along with the likes of Ron Thompson and Stephen Bardo.

We'll be sure to confirm everything once more press releases are available. As of now, this is what we have for you all.

Update: Per RedStormSports.com, the duo of Jonathan Yardley and Tarik Turner will call the St. John's-Franklin Pierce matchup on Monday evening.

We've also learned that our speculation was half right and half wrong, as the duo of Bob Wischusen and Dan Dakich will be commentating the Marquette-Ohio State matchup as part of ESPN's 24-hour Tip-Off Marathon. This comes courtesy of GoMarquette.com.
