The new AP Top 25 poll is out and two Big East squads are in the mix.

The Villanova Wildcats and Creighton Bluejays are featured prominently in this week’s poll. Nova and Creighton rank 3rd and 15th respectively in the poll, giving the conference two teams in the poll once again.

Nova is unchanged at 3rd after a successful 1-0 week. The Wildcats swiftly dismissed the Seton Hall Pirates 80-72 n New Jersey back on Saturday. It was the Wildcats’ ninth win in a row and sixth in a row in Big East play, as they’re still unbeaten against the conference. Even after a month-long pause due to COVID-19 concerns, Villanova is still tough to beat.

Creighton, meanwhile, had a 2-0 week and rose up to 15th after sitting 17th last week. The Bluejays defeated Seton Hall with a monumental comeback, and then dispatched the DePaul Blue Demons 69-62 over the weekend in Chicago. Creighton has now won three games in a row and are a hearty 9-3 in conference play.

Two other Big East teams received votes in this week’s poll. The Xavier Musketeers and UConn Huskies were those teams, as they ‘ranked’ 30th and 39th respectively.
