Earlier this week, the Creighton Bluejays received some fantastic news. Duke Blue Devils transfer Alex O’Connell will be joining the Jays program whenever the heck it is that we break through all the madness going on in the world. O’Connell made the announcement that he’s bound for Omaha on his Twitter account.

O’Connell is a former Top 100, 4-star recruit out of Alpharetta, Georgia. He ranked 68th in the nation prior to heading to Duke in the Class of 2017, a class that included the likes of Trevon Duval, Wendell Carter Jr. and Marvin Bagley III, as well as Gary Trent Jr. O’Connell has played around some exceptional talents obviously, and he will be joining a Creighton team that is loaded to the gills. Though he figures to be likely to sit one year and play in the 2021-22 season.

This is quite the splash for the Bluejays, who figure to be a force to be reckoned with again next season and beyond it would appear.
