The Seton Hall Pirates are up to .500 on the season. The Pirates scored their third win of the year on Tuesday night, defeating the Wagner Seahawks 78-45. And after starting the week 1-3, a win over Penn State and a win over the Seahawks has brought them up to an even 3-3 record.

Seton Hall got out to a strong start. They led 19-8 at the 13:33 mark and after weathering the storm the Seahawks brought,t hey extended their lead further. After Wagner got to within one, the Pirates went on a 15-0 run to end the first half over the next 7:32. They led 37-21 at the break and the Seahawks never got much closer. The Pirates kept their foot on the gas in the second half and outpaced Wagner en route to an emphatic win.

The Pirates were powered by a tag team effort by Jared Rhoden and Ike Obiagu. The duo combined for 42 of Seton Hall’s 78 points on the night, and blazed with efficiency too. They shot a combined 10-for-13 from the field and 20-for-25 from the free throw line. They were just too hot for Wagner to handle and too cold for them to hold Tuesday night in New Jersey, as both enjoyed stellar nights from the field.

Nearly getting into double figures were Shavar Reynolds and Takal Molson. Both finished with nine points on the night, just falling shy of joining Obiagu and Rhoden in that company. Reynolds added four rebounds and five assists to his credit while Molson had one rebound and two assists.

Seton Hall is currently scheduled to take on St. John’s come Friday.
