After numerous cancellations, pauses in basketball activities, and rescheduling of games, the DePaul Blue Demons are finally set to begin their regular season. They were supposed to tip off last month, and are now the final Big East team to have not played so far. They are now scheduled to play three games within the next seven days with the first matchup coming against an in-state school.
DePaul will be playing against the Western Illinois Leathernecks, who are 2-4 on the season. After start on a three-game losing streak, they have picked it up by winning two of their last three. In their most recent win, which came against Tennessee-Martin, WIU got 18 points from Will Caries along with Justin Brookens scoring 15. WIU is currently fourth in the Summit League and is a game behind third place Oral Roberts in the win column. After this game, the Leathernecks will play back to back games against North Dakota State.
Meanwhile for DePaul has games against Providence and UConn coming up during the holiday period.
