Georgetown vs. Navy: Time, TV channel, odds

The Hoyas are back in action Tuesday night against the Midshipmen.

The Georgetown Hoyas are back in action Tuesday night. The Hoyas, 1-0 on the young season, face off with the Navy Midshipmen. Georgetown will host the Naval Academy at McDonough Arena on the campus of the university. This will mark the 30th time that the two teams have squared off, the last matchup coming back on December 23rd, 2006.

Georgetown did defeat UMBC in their first game of the year. However, they did so riding a really poor offensive showing. The Hoyas shot 25.9 percent from 3, 43.8 percent from inside and 50 percent on their free throw attempts. And well, they only had 14 of those, so they weren’t able to draw many opportunities from the line either. So the Hoyas will have to be on the hunt for a stronger level of efficiency this evening against Navy.

Navy’s offense has been rock solid early on. They’ve shot it moderately well and have kept turnovers to a minimum. They will run into a Georgetown defense Tuesday night that had a really strong showing against the Retrievers. They held UMBC to 25 percent from the perimeter and 41.5 percent on inside shots. If they can keep that similar level of play up against Navy, then they may well pick up the win.
