The approval of UConn to the Big East comes days after it was reported that the Huskies were likely headed back to their home dwellings. Huskies men’s and women’s basketball will officially be part of the conference starting in the 2020-21 regular season as a result of this move. They were already playing in the Big East in field hockey and lacrosse, so this move obviously does not affect those programs and their current states.
A press conference at Madison Square Garden in New York City is expected to take place on Thursday.
Welcome back, Huskies! And remember, folks: UConn is NOT an acronym.
