The Seton Hall Pirates got back in the swing of things Sunday with their 83-66 win over the Saint Louis Billikens. Six days later, the Pirates are back in New Jersey for their last test before the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament begins Wednesday.
The test will come in the form of the Florida A&M Rattlers. And no disrespect to the Rattlers, but this should be a game that Seton Hall breezes through. Robert McCullum’s squad is 0-4 on the year so far. They have taken losses to the USC Trojans, Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, Pacific Tigers and South Dakota Coyotes. SHU is likely to tag the MEAC rep with yet another loss on Saturday, as they are projected to win by 30 points on KenPom.
If nothing else, it will be interesting to see if FAMU’s Bryce Moragne can keep up his hot start. Moragne has posted an eFG% and TS% of 65 and 70 percent respectively so far. He has gone 65 percent from the field, 13-of-20 on 2-point tries, and has also shot the ball very well from the FT line. He’s made 12 of his 15 FT attempts, good for a mark of 80 percent.
As previously noted, Seton hall should be able to win this one going away. The Pirates will likely be too much for the Rattlers to handle on Saturday. I’d expect another big game from Myles Powell, who is certainly setting the pace in a big way for the rest of the Big East Conference this year.
