Three things to watch
1. Home Court Advantage
St. John's has not lost on its home floor yet this season. The intimate environment at Carnesecca Arena should provide for a good atmosphere for Chris Mullins's side. Additionally, the Red Storm are holding opponents to just over 53 points per game in its on-campus arena.
2. Confidence is Growing
Narrow wins over Chaminade, Wagner and Niagara made this St. John's team appear incapable of finishing higher than expected this season. The Syracuse win changed that. The development of players like Federico Mussini have started to take place and the Chris Mullins era is off to a positive start.
3. Expectations Raised
A win against Syracuse to improve to 7-3 on the season has also raised expectations for this developing squad. Games like tonight's are expected to be wins. That isn't a position that St. John's has been in this season yet.
