The DePaul Blue Demons (3-5, 1-5) look to continue their winning ways Wednesday evening as they welcome the St. John’s Red Storm (9-7, 3-6) to Wintrust Arena.
DePaul won its first Big East game of the year over the weekend, pulling out a 68-61 victory over the Marquette Golden Eagles in Milwaukee, while the Red Storm defeated UConn on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which was St. John’s last Big East game. A COVID postponement wiped out St. John’s weekend game, and they quickly adjusted and added Utah Valley to the schedule, and picked up a 96-78 win.
Red Storm forward Julian Champagnie comes into the game leading the Big East in scoring at 19.9 points per game. DePaul held Champagnie to just 9.5 points per game in their two meetings last season, so it will be interesting to see if the Blue Demons are able to contain Champagnie on Wednesday evening.
DePaul has been led in scoring by Charlie Moore, with 13.9 points per game. Moore is coming off a season-high 21 point performance against Marquette in which he went 10-10 from the free throw line.
