Ohio State guard DJ Carton transfers to Marquette

The Golden Eagles got big news Wednesday night

NCAA Basketball: Ohio State at Penn State Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

The Marquette Golden Eagles made some waves on the transfer market Wednesday night when Ohio State guard DJ Carton announced he would be transferring to Marquette.

Carton averaged 10 points per game in his freshman season with the Buckeyes before stepping away from the team in January with personal issues. He may have to sit out part of the 2020-21 season, depending on if he seeks a hardship waiver or if the NCAA passes the proposed one-time transfer rule that has been discussed.

In all, Carton should fit in very nicely for a Golden Eagles offense that will be looking to make up the scoring void left by Markus Howard’s graduation.
