This past January, the future looked bright for the DePaul Blue Demons as Saint Louis forward and former top 50 recruit Carte’Are Gordon announced he would be committing to DePaul and would be eligible right around the start of Big East play.
On Wednesday, ESPN’s Jonathan Givony tweeted that Gordon’s name was in the NCAA’s transfer portal.
Just 7 months after transferring from St. Louis to DePaul, it appears that former USA Basketball Top-100 recruit Carte'Are Gordon may be on the move again. His name appeared in the NCAA transfer portal today. Bizarre timing after playing well in Italy on DePaul's preseason tour.

Shortly later, 247Sports’ Evan Daniels confirmed the news.
DePaul post player Carte’Are Gordon is transferring, according to Dave Leitao. Averaged 8.9 PPG & 4.1 RPG as a freshman at St. Louis.

Gordon looked like he would be a key contributor to a DePaul frontcourt that includes returning players Paul Reed and Jaylen Butz along with fellow transfer Darious Hall, but that obviously won’t come to pass now.
Gordon won’t be able to transfer to a Big East school, per conference rules. While he never played a game for DePaul, if you sign a National Letter of Intent with a Big East school, you can’t sign with another Big East school, like Tremont Waters when Creighton expressed interest in him.
