What was always seemingly a foregone conclusion has finally come to be: The UConn Huskies will be returning to the Big East!
The news seemed to come out of nowhere, and escalated very quickly. It started with a tweet Friday evening from Digital Sports Desk.
By Saturday morning, The Hartford Courant’s Mike Anthony confirmed the rumor, then The Athletic’s Dana O’Neil confirmed UConn would be coming aboard.

It’s worth pointing out that the UConn Board of Trustees have their monthly meeting scheduled for this Wednesday, so a vote could possibly come then, though it’s not on the agenda as of Saturday afternoon.
For more on what this means from a UConn perspective, our friends at The UConn Blog put together an entire podcast about it. Take a listen!
