Strong Second Half From TCU Sinks Jays 71-58; Creighton’s Season Unceremoniously Ends

It was a weird year, but we’ve got lots of time to reflect.

Creighton led 33-30 at half. They turned the ball over 12 times total throughout the half, giving the idea that their lead would be far greater if they hadn’t been so sloppy with the ball.

Well, that’s likely true.

TCU went on a 12-0 run to start the second half to take a 42-33 lead. From that point on they never really looked back. Kouat Noi ended up going 6-11 from three and scored 25 points - 12 in the second half. Their defensive pressures against Creighton caused the Jays fits and the rim seemed to be sealed with a combination of locktite and steel.

Martin Krampelj appeared to have rolled his ankle at the 16:36 mark and missed the remainder of the game. When he departed the TCU lead was already in double digits, so his absence combined with the cold shooting display and poor ball handling was a potent recipe for disaster.

TCU built their lead to 19 with 2:37 left in the second half.

Creighton finishes the season with 20 wins and 15 losses in what was generally believed to be a building year.
