The St. John’s Red Storm are riding high at the moment. Sitting at 14-1 and 2-1 in Big East play, Shamorie Ponds and the Red Storm found themselves at #24 in this week’s AP Poll, their first time cracking the top 25 this season. It’s easy to see why, as St. John’s is a blown call away from being 15-0, one of four undefeated teams in the nation. As it stands though, this has been a great start to a pivotal year for Chris Mullin and the Red Storm. However, Tuesday marks their toughest test of the season as they travel to Villanova.

While the Wildcats aren’t ranked, they’ve certainly looked more like their old selves in conference play, defeating DePaul and Providence to open 2-0. Phil Booth and Eric Paschall have been big time players all season, and will undoubtedly play a big part in this game.

While The Pavilion hasn’t been a guaranteed victory this year like it has been in the past for Nova, it still seems like the Wildcats should have an advantage in this one. But if Ponds, Justin Simon, Marvin Clark, and Mustapha Heron are hitting their shots, Jay Wright’s bunch could be in for a long night.
