The DePaul Blue Demons struck with a coup on Tuesday night. The Blue Demons officially learned that Carte’Are Gordon, formerly of the Saint Louis Billikens, plans on transferring up to Chicago from St. Louis. Gordon made the announcement on Twitter and it was then confirmed by the Blue Demons on Wednesday.
The former four-star recruit played 13 games with the Billikens before requesting his release from the program. In those 13 games he averaged 8.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while shooting 54.2 percent from the field and 40 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. Those are pretty solid enough marks for the former four-star forward, and he will be a welcomed addition when he hits the floor for the first time.
Gordon joins what’s going to be an intriguing roster in the 2019-20 season. DePaul’s recruiting class includes four-stars Romeo Weems from Michigan and Markese Jacobs out of Chicago, as well as Oscar Lopez, a three-star out of California. Those players, along with Jalen Coleman-Lands, Paul Reed, Jaylen Butz, Devin Gage as well as Arkansas Razorbacks transfer Darious Hall will be the ones to watch next season and Gordon’s addition could prove to be one that aids them in a big way.
