St. John’s lands Mississippi State guard Eli Wright

Wright will have to sit out this season but will be eligible for the following two.

Chris Mullin and the St. John’s Red Storm continue to make waves on the transfer market, as Mississippi State Bulldogs guard Eli Wright is the latest player to transfer to Queens.

Wright averaged 3.0 points per game in his sophomore campaign for the Bulldogs. He was a former ESPN Top 100 recruit, and played high school basketball with fellow Red Storm transfer Sedee Keita.

With a less crowded backcourt than he faced in Starkville, Wright’s numbers and production should be on the rise when he takes the court for St. John’s.
