Your 2018 Naismith Award winner resides in your favorite conference!
Jalen Brunson is the recipient of the coveted honor, as announced on Sunday morning. Brunson, who has already taken home Big East POY and AP POY honors and the Oscar Robertson Award, has added another piece of hardware to the mantle. It’s hard to argue his status as the best player in college basketball, especially after such an exceptional season.
The Villanova Wildcats star has a chance to cement his status as one of the best players in Villanova history (and the Big East’s history as well) on Monday night when he and the ‘Cats look for their second National Championship in three years. Brunson and Co. will be tasked with taking on the Michigan Wolverines, but if his performance in the Final Four rout of Kansas is in any indication, the junior star will be a lot to handle.
Jalen is likely in line to take home the Wooden Award as well if this current run is any indication. It would be quite the feat for him to hit that quadfecta. Chances are, he very well may. Congrats to Brunson on yet another accomplishment!
