You may have already seen the news on Friday morning. But in case you didn’t, Fox Sports PR dropped a big ol’ newsitem on us all.
The account teased the use of “Roundball Rock,” the famous NBA on NBC theme song, during their tripleheader this coming Saturday. Which, of course, will feature several Big East matchups including Seton Hall-Kentucky and Marquette-Wisconsin.

“Roundball Rock” hasn’t been used in a very long time during any kinds of hoops telecasts. NBC has used it during their Olympic Basketball broadcasts in the past, but it’s been a while since it has been used consistently. That is about to change.
A FOX Sports spokesperson told Big East Coast Bias on Friday afternoon that the song will be used on “select FOX Sports college basketball games throughout this season, beginning Saturday.”
This is obviously a very exciting development. The song still conjures up a lot of nostalgia from hoops lovers from all corners. It is also quite the win for FOX Sports, as the song has been relatively unclaimed by the big networks for a very long time.
