Despite not having leading scorer Max Strus and shooting just 36% on the evening, the DePaul Blue Demons improved to 5-1 for the first time since 2014-15 with a 65-50 victory over the Florida A&M Rattlers.

Three Blue Demons had 10+ points, as Femi Olujobi had a DePaul career-high 16, Eli Cain had 15, and Jalen Coleman-Lands had 13. Paul Reed had a career-high 14 rebounds to go along with nine points.

DePaul’s offense struggled without Strus, who was held out due to knee tendonitis, but the Blue Demons looked good defensively.

FAMU’s Justin Ravenel had 13 points, but no other Rattler had more than nine.

DePaul heads to Evanston Saturday for a meeting with the Northwestern Wildcats.
