After dropping two straight games, the Georgetown Hoyas (7-3) have a prime opportunity to get back in the win column as they host the Appalachian State Mountaineers (4-7) Tuesday night at Capital One Arena.

Two of Appalachian State’s four victories came against non-Division I teams, and the other two were against KenPom sub-290 teams Howard and North Carolina Central. This is all just a long way of saying there’s really no reason for the Hoyas to lose this game.

However, it’s worth pointing out that two App State players average more than 15 points a game, as guard Ronshad Shabazz averages 19.3 a game and guard Justin Forrest averages 17.7 a game.

The problem for App State is the fact that they’re porous in almost every facet defensively, checking in among the nation’s worst in most defensive categories. The Hoyas should be perfectly fine if the game turns into a shootout, so long as they don’t over rely on three-point shots.
