Jays win first half, falter in final 11 minutes against #1 Gonzaga 103-92

The sequel was the same as the first installment.

Ty-Shon Alexander is going to be a Bluejay legend by the time he graduates from Creighton University. That’s not hyperbole; this guy shows up big in big time games.

He also got Creighton off to an incredible start, burying a three to start the scoring, then burying another at the 15:21 mark to break a tie and put the Jays up by three. Creighton wouldn’t relinquish this lead until the 13:07 mark in the second half, more on that later.

The first half played out like a video game, both teams trading buckets with an immense amount of precision and pace. Creighton fed off the high tempo a little more than the Zags, taking Gonzaga’s laxed defense and making them pay, hitting nine threes in the first twenty minutes.
