Charleston Southern vs. Marquette 2018: Time, TV, streaming, preview

This will certainly be a game of basketball.

You know the worst part about Feast Week? After it ends, we go back to the typical high-major vs. low-major weeknight nonconference games. That’s the case Tuesday night in Milwaukee as the Marquette Golden Eagles (4-2) host the Charleston Southern Buccaneers (4-2).

How to watch or stream

Time: 7 p.m. CT

TV: FOX Sports Net (check local listings)

Stream: FOX Sports Go

It’s not even December yet, but the Marquette Golden Eagles are already done with the away portion of their nonconference schedule following their two games in Brooklyn last week. The Golden Eagles split their games in Brooklyn, falling to Kansas and beating Louisville in overtime. While 2-0 was obviously the most ideal result, going 1-1 puts Marquette in good position to make some noise in their seven-game homestand stretching through the rest of 2018. It’s not easy to win on the road in college basketball, so the best solution is to just take road games entirely out of the equation.

Marquette will likely be led offensively Tuesday by the duo of Markus Howard and Sam Hauser, as they have been all year, but Joey Hauser is also having a strong freshman campaign at 11 points per game so far.

The Buccaneers don’t really have anything they do particularly well. They have a below average ranking in the majority of categories, and two of their four wins this season have come against D2 teams. There’s no reason for Marquette to lose this game, and it’s more likely they’ll just be trying to get things situated before hosting Kansas State on Saturday.
