Greg McDermott got another key player for his 2018 class with 6’11 big man Sam Froling committing to the Jays.
Froling had offers from Arizona, Maryland, and former Valley foe Wichita State. He’d recently gone on a “successful” visit to Creighton, followed by visits to Arizona and the dank pit of despair that is Wichita, Kansas.
Extremely excited to announce that I have committed to Creighton University! A big thanks to everyone who has helped me get to where I am at the moment. Keen to see what the future holds! #bluejays pic.twitter.com/gbQnbN9qJD

Froling joins Marcus Zegarowski, a 6’1 point guard and younger brother of Michael Carter-Williams, and Christian Bishop, a 6’7 190lb small forward from Missouri.
Sam Froling also happens to be the brother of Marquette center Harry Froling, who’s played in 8 games this season for the Golden Eagles, scoring 2.5PPG and averaging 3.8 rebounds per game. Harry is also 6’11 and 250lbs, so that means something to someone, somewhere.
Here’s a mixtape video with obnoxious music:
This is a really good pick up for Creighton. Froling has grown to 6-11. He’s versatile. Has very good hands, touch & can play facing the rim or on the block. https://t.co/80McY6X3OK

Froling is from Canberra, Australia, which is the capital city of Australia. The city itself is bizarrely beautiful, with sprawling areas of green space and a population of ~403,000. It’s very warm in Canberra, as it has an oceanic climate, with average lows in winter sitting in the mid-30’s.
If you’ve got nickname ideas for the Froling/Epperson duo please send them via carrier pigeon to the CenturyLink Center. I’ll pick it up later.
Here are some of my ideas:
Aussie Boys
Knifey-Spoony
Coriolis Effect
