Preview

Marquette is entering this game coming off a major home blowout against #13 Seton Hall. Andrew Rowsey finished the game with an absurd 31 points on 10-of-18 shots. Hopefully, he and Markus Howard can continue their hot streak from behind the arc. In fact, Marquette is one of the few, if not the only team with two players scoring 20+ PPG in Div. I basketball.

Butler comes in off a road loss to #25 Creighton. Poor shooting from behind the arc as well as sub-par defense down low contributed heavily to the loss. Since their upset of No.1 Villanova, Butler has dropped three straight.

Butler is going to have their hands full on defense, as Howard and Rowsey have shot the ball extremely well this season, close to 50% from the field for each. Sam Hauser has been automatic from behind the arc, and if Butler fails to to recover on drive and kicks as well as miss-communications, expect the shooters to burn Butler. A weakness that Marquette has is a lack of solid rebounding and size.

Butler needs to find that same spark of shooting they had against Villanova to break this skid. Obviously, a way they can help space the floor is by taking it inside. In fact, Butler shot 47% from the floor, which as a team is respectable. Winning on the defensive glass is another key for victory.

I know Butler is favored, however with this game potentially breaking into an offensive showcase, this is going to be an exciting game.
