NBA Summer League 2017 Day 7: Big East recap

Orlando and Utah have wrapped up as the spotlight turns to Las Vegas

NCAA Basketball: Big East Conference Tournament-Creighton vs Villanova Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

The Orlando and Utah Summer Leagues have come and gone, and now it’s time for Vegas!

Josh Hart, Kris Dunn, Ryan Arcidiacono, and others will be featured in the Vegas Summer League in the next few days!

Let’s jump in.

JOSH HART

The nation came to a standstill on Friday evening to turn its attention to the Lakers/Clippers Summer League opener, quite obviously to watch 2016-17 Big East Player of the Year Josh Hart’s professional debut and nothing else because who else did the Lakers even draft this year?

Anyways, Hart played 14 minutes off the bench and scored five points on 2-8 shooting, he also grabbed three rebounds.

VANDER BLUE

One-time NCAA Tournament hero Vander Blue is still part of the Lakers organization. He started for the Lakers last night and scored 11 points in 20 minutes of action en route to their 96-93 loss.

JAMIL WILSON

Blue’s former teammate at Marquette, Wilson was on the other side of the floor for this one. How fun! He had seven points and six rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench for the Clippers.

HOLLIS THOMPSON

The former Hoya is on the Clippers SL team after his stint with Henry Ellenson and the Pistons concluded. He scored 10 points in 20 minutes. Lotta Big East action in this game.

JALEN REYNOLDS

The former Xavier standout made his debut for the Toronto Raptors and played five minutes in the victory, scoring three points and grabbing a rebound.

SIR’DOMINIC POINTER

Sir’Dom remains with the Cavs, where he’s carved out a nice career with the G-League’s Canton Charge over the past two seasons. He played five minutes in Cleveland’s victory over the Bucks, scoring two points and grabbing one rebound.

BRYCE COTTON

After bouncing from Utah to Memphis to Phoenix over the past couple seasons, Cotton finds himself playing for Atlanta’s Summer League squad. He had four points, two rebounds, and two assists in their 75-72 loss to Brooklyn.

ISAIAH WHITEHEAD

Whitehead found himself on the victorious side of that matchup, as Brooklyn’s 2016 second round pick scored 14 points on 5-17 shooting and hauled in five rebounds in 29 minutes of action. With the Nets building up their roster, every game is important for players like Whitehead.
