This is Providence’s first reported offer since sending one to five-star Jalen Lecque, a Bronx native who plays in the state of North Carolina as well. It’s also the Friars’ first recruiting move since getting a commit from four-star 2018 shooting guard A.J. Reeves.
Gantt is a Top 10 recruit in the state of North Carolina for 2019, ranking ninth among them all right now. He’s sandwiched between 8th-ranked B.J. Mack and 10th-ranked Keyshaun Langley, both of whom are Virginia Tech commits. The Fayetteville native is ranked 57th among all small forwards in America and 201st overall.
At the moment, nine schools, Providence included, have offered Greg Gantt, including fellow Big East rep DePaul. South Carolina, Charlotte and East Carolina among others are also in on the 6-foot-7, 195-pound 2019 small forward.
