Ponds is the lone Big East product to be invited to the tryout, as he stands among some of college basketball’s most young and exciting talents, as well as quite a few 2017 and 2018 players with high profiles.
Incoming freshmen Hamidou Diallo (Kentucky Wildcats), Kevin Knox (also of Kentucky) and Jeremiah Tilmon (Missouri Tigers) head that group, along with Kris Wilkes (UCLA Bruins), Trae Young (Oklahoma Sooners), Mitchell Robinson (Western Kentucky Hilltoppers) and P.J. Washington (also of Kentucky).
Also in the mix are quite a few talented 2018 products. Romeo Langford, Cameron Reddish, Immanuel Quickly and Bol Bol are among the tryouts, as all four stand as the No. 3, No. 4, No. 8 and No. 14 recruits in their class.
