Chris Holtmann is having a heck of a week.
Last Thursday, Holtmann signed a long-term extension with the Butler Bulldogs, giving him a contract through the 2024-2025 season.
Tuesday afternoon, Holtmann and the Bulldogs picked up a commitment from four-star 2017 point guard Aaron Thompson, making the best recruiting class in school history even better.
Scout’s Evan Daniels had the news first.

Thompson was committed to Pittsburgh until late April, when the Panthers released him from his Letter of Intent. Holtmann and his staff wasted no time reaching out to the Farifax, VA product.
The addition of Thompson gives the Bulldogs more of a pure point guard than they had previously on the roster. There had been talks about moving Kamar Baldwin to point guard full-time, as he split time there last year with Tyler Lewis, but with this development, it seems likely that Baldwin will remain at shooting guard.
The Bulldogs are now out of scholarships for the 2017-18 season.
