Joel Berry II vs. Tyler Lewis

The two floor generals will be in for some fun in this Friday night tilt in Memphis.

Tyler Lewis has been terrific of late, especially excelling in this year’s NCAA Tournament. He’s averaged 8.0 points and 6.0 assists in the first two games of the Tourney and more than had his moments during the season. He’ll have plenty of opportunities to dish the ball out and make the right plays as Butler brings their loaded dossier of weapons with them to Memphis. Lewis is a veteran and while he’s never been this deep in the tourney before, he’s smart and savvy enough to know what to do at this stage. Expect another big game for him Friday.

Berry meanwhile has been integral for UNC too but has been plagued by an ankle injury. It kept him almost completely neutralized in the blowout against Texas Southern, and he was still pretty off his game against Arkansas. While Berry scored 10, he did so while shooting 2-for-13 from the field and didn’t make a single 2-point bucket. He’s getting closer to 100% and if he’s fine and dandy in the FedEx Forum, we’re in for quite a fun point guard battle.
