Bovada released their pre-tourney odds on Monday afternoon for the upcoming 2017 NCAA Tournament.
While the Duke Blue Devils and North Carolina Tar Heels are the current odds-on favorites at 13/2, the Villanova Wildcats aren’t too far behind. The reigning National Champions are at 15/2, posting the same odds as the Kansas Jayhawks. ‘Nova, of course, is looking to become the first back-to-back National Champ since the Florida Gators of 2006 and 2007.
You’d have to trek down a few rungs on the ladder to find the next team from the Big East. The Butler Bulldogs are the second team from the Big East to be repped on the odds list, checking in with 66/1. Those odds are the same as the Wisconsin Badgers as well as the Wichita State Shockers.
Further down, we find the Creighton Bluejays as a longshot at 150/1. They aren’t the longest of longshots in the Big East though as the Providence Friars, Seton Hall Pirates and Xavier Musketeers are all posting 250/1 odds right now to win it all.
But, the longest shot to win the title from the Big East is the Marquette Golden Eagles. As of now, the 10-seeded Golden Eagles are at 300/1 to win the NCAA Tournament, posting the same odds as the Dayton Flyers (whom Anonymous Eagle doesn’t like very much).
