On Friday night, the Dallas Mavericks signed former Providence Friars forward Ben Bentil to a 10-day contract.

The news was first reported above by ESPN’s Marc Stein.

Bentil, who’d played in Friartown for two years, had been hanging around in the NBA’s D-League on the roster of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. In addition to Fort Wayne, the former Friar had also been playing in the Chinese Basketball Association for the Xinjiang Flying Tigers.

Best of luck to Bentil, who will be looking to have similar success to that of a fellow Maverick who’d been playing on a 10-day contract: former Indiana Hoosiers guard Yogi Ferrell.
